I didn't hesitate - 18! You're finished high school, you're old enough to drive, gravity and stretch marks have not taken hold to your body, you have lots of energy, you're still living at home so you have no bills or major responsibilities, you can pass for legal drinking age and get into clubs, and no one tells you to act your age.
Then I started to think about it... at 18 forever.
18. Sure I could drive, but I had to ask permission to take the car. Stretch marks are a badge of honor, a sign of my daughter. Energy- isn't that what coffee if for? Still living at home - gulp. I hadn't met husband at 18...
Can I retract my answer? I don't want to be 18 forever. (maybe just for a few hours)
I love this Bay Girl, it's good to recognise the past but not to wish for it back, great answer, getting permission for the car is a massive pain for me even to this day.
ReplyDeletea younger me feels your pain :)
DeleteGood for you! Not a chance I'd want to be that young and stupid again.
ReplyDeletewell I'm still struggling with the stupid part :)
DeleteI guess the trick is to be satisfied with whatever stage in life you're currently at...still.....25.
ReplyDelete25... now I could do that over!
DeleteSo true, be happy with the age you have!
ReplyDeleteuntil I hit 50, then I'm counting backwards
DeleteGoing back never interested me. Well, maybe when I was 25, 18 looked like a good do over.
ReplyDeleteguess that means you are happy with your life :)
DeleteI think I'd like to be about 30.
ReplyDelete30ish? for a while
DeleteI'd love to be 18 forever, as long as I could also be a trust fund baby.
ReplyDeletetrust fund would be nice no matter what age :)
DeleteI'd go back and do 36 again.
ReplyDeletewhy 36?
DeleteI wouldn't mind looking like I did in my 30s, I wouldn't want other things to change.
ReplyDeletei'd like to look in my 20s (before gravity became an issue)
DeleteI could wish to go back to my 30's-I was thinner, married, had a great job and travelled but I am actually happier now despite crap in life. I am heavier-just have to stop eating those beautiful luscious chocolates...hmmm chocolate. I am divorced and happier for it, still have my job and will travel again so-who cares-happy now:)
ReplyDeletechocolate? who cares about anything when there is chocolate?!
DeleteI'd want to be 5 forever, those were good times and I had a kickass bday party.
ReplyDeleteA little while ago there was a "I miss you blogfest" and someone mentioned you like you weren't blogging anymore. I haven't seen a comment from you in awhile. Thanks for stopping by.
yeah, I'm still here... just a little absent minded.
DeleteI'd probably like to still have a few physical characteristics that I had when I was 18---like the number that appeared when I stepped on a scale---ha ha.
ReplyDeleteHowever---I will stick with what I now have....great husband....awesome daughter and future son-in-law....great life.
Nice post though...makes you think!!
we won't talk about scales and their evilness
