I'm a girl from around the bay. A runner, mother, daughter, sister, wife, an average run of the mill Newfoundlander with an overly active imagination.
I spend my days making mistakes and then trying to fix them before I get caught.
My life is random!
Mr D has been having hot toddies as we have both had the lurgie, I cant stand whiskey so declined....sticking to the paracetamol :)ReplyDelete
hope he feels better soon :)Delete
Sign me up!ReplyDelete
Although I never drink hard alcohol, so it might make me sick.
will make you sleepy before it makes you sick :)Delete
Hot toddies are not exactly from Newfoundland originally, we have been drinking them in the UK for centuries. It doesn't have to be whisky Claire, brandy makes a good hot toddie too. As for making you sick Alex, one good hot toddie when you have the lurgy will make you feel lots better whether you drink or not.ReplyDelete
most Newfoundlanders have European backgrounds (Scotland, England and Ireland mainly) :)Delete
This sounds like quite something for curing your ailments haha, which is actually what I could do with right now!ReplyDelete
or as my father would say - "put hair on your chest"Delete
I think I'll stick with chicken soup lol.ReplyDelete
that's good tooDelete
Any particular kind of booze? I used to put brandy in a hot cup of tea....is that a hot toddy?ReplyDelete
add a little bit of sugar and you get it :)Delete
....since I'm feeling a little green around the gills maybe I can convince hubby to fix a toddy for me! :)ReplyDelete
Shirletta @ Shirleyisnotmyname
enjoy it :)Delete
Back in college days, the toddy also included lemon juice, just for one's Vit C needs.ReplyDelete
lemon is good too! :)Delete
I have heard of brandy but since I had a bad experience with it when I was young, I can never even smell the stuff never mind drink it. I could think of rum and since I am sick as a dog and can finally move my head off the pillow maybe I should try itReplyDelete
hope you feel better - prehaps give it a try :)Delete
I have hot toddies all the time. However, I usually leave out the sugar and hot water...ReplyDelete
me too - I switch it for sodaDelete
