V is for vamps (not the twilight kind)
I'm vitrid ! My sister borrowed my vamps, and snagged them out on the veranda, now I got to find someone to darn them.
vamps - short, thick woolen socks
veranda - a patio, or wooden (and sometimes concrete) structure outside the entrance to a house
vitrid - vengeful

ReplyDeleteDefinitely going to start using the word vitrid more often. And why is spell check saying it is misspelled? It's making me vitrid.

ReplyDeleteI'm just loving your posts...you could design a
ReplyDeletewhole blog with just Newfoundland (or East Coast) sayings!! Some of those we say here in New Brunswick, but a lot I hadn't heard of before.
Thanks for visiting my post and for your kind comments.
That sick call set was home made, I think. There's no store or production markings on it. It belonged to my grandmother who gave it to my mother.
