First Loves...

Captain Ninja, Alex J. Cavanaugh is hosting a First Love Blogfest today so head on over and check it out! Link up and tell us about your first music love, first book love, first music love and first person love.

First Movie Love Would have to be The NeverEnding Story - Through a book, Bastian finds himself in Fantasia. Fantasia is facing oblivion from an enemy known as The Nothing. The Empress chooses Atreyu, to save their world.

First Music Love From the first music cassette I owned, the song Thriller. I can still recall parts of the dance.

First Love - Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block. We're talking obsessed - my walls and ceilings were littered with posters, t-shirts, magazine... I even wrote a few letters to the fan club! It ended with Joey when he didn't write me back, and Leonardo DiCaprio started on Growing Pains.

First Book Love I was in third grade, when Santa gave me Dracula. It was the kid's version of the classic, but to me it was a thick hard covered novel. I struggled with a few of the bigger words (underlining them in pencil to either ask my mother about, or look up in the dictionary) but I loved it, and have read Dracula half a dozen times since.

  1. Oh my gawd, New Kids on the Block.. you must be about my little sister's age because she loved those guys, too. And Thriller? YES! What a cool, cool song and music video that was! I love the way it was redone in that Jennifer Garner movie where she wakes up and she's 30... so much fun!

  9. EEK... I remember that era from my kids! Also remember the Thriller video scaring the crap out of my daughter when she was little. Every time it came on, she would either leave the room, or cover her ears and hide her head.

  10. hang tough... is that a new kids song?...

  11. Loved "Neverending Story", first heard the song on the radio, then saw the movie, then read the book. Great stuff! The "Thriller" album reminds me so much of my freshman & sophomore years in college!!

  16. I forgot that Leonardi di Caprio was on Growing Pains. It's a weird concept but yeah, an upgrade from Joey McIntyre. And Thriller is a great video. You were a smart, well-rounded kid.

  19. Hi Baygirl. I can share all those with you except your first love, lol. Great choices. One of the good things about this 'fest is that we get reminded of favourite things we'd forgotten, like the Never Ending Story. Priceless.

  21. I think I was just a little too old for Neverending Story--I haven't seen it, even though it appeals to me. It just hit when I was the age I thought I was too old for all that, but BEFORE I was mature enough to know that didn't matter.

  22. Oh, I love Thriller, but as a kid the video scared me to death! I learned the dance moves, though! But I always liked the video to Bad better.
