T is for Toddy

I have a Newfoundland home remedy today!

Toddy - a Newfoundland Hot Toddy is a mixture of booze, sugar and hot water.

Toddies are a cure for just about everything: cold, flu, toothache, upset stomach, sleep....

  3. Hot toddies are not exactly from Newfoundland originally, we have been drinking them in the UK for centuries. It doesn't have to be whisky Claire, brandy makes a good hot toddie too. As for making you sick Alex, one good hot toddie when you have the lurgy will make you feel lots better whether you drink or not.

  8. Back in college days, the toddy also included lemon juice, just for one's Vit C needs.

  9. I have heard of brandy but since I had a bad experience with it when I was young, I can never even smell the stuff never mind drink it. I could think of rum and since I am sick as a dog and can finally move my head off the pillow maybe I should try it
