A Fartlek (swedish for “speed play”) workouts involves sprinting and jogging off and on during a run. So instead of keeping the same pace through the whole workout you sprint, then jog, then sprint again. They are a lot harder than they sound!

ReplyDeleteI love fartleks and usually do sprints between lamp posts, or play 'catch the pigeon' with unsuspecting dog walkers - they don't know they're part of the game though. ;-)
