oblivious

My attention span has always been a problem for me. I'm either too focused on what I'm doing, half-listening, or completely zoned out, then throw in the fact that I watch too many cartoons. Makes for an interesting combination right?

Last night I went to see Robin Hood (I'll refrain from commenting on the movie, other than to state that Alan Doyle did a great job for someone with no acting experience)and the theatre was packed because it was cheap night.

Husband was sitting on my left and an older gentleman wearing too much cologne was sitting on my right, that's fine. Husband had popcorn and I had maltesers. See where this is going yet?

About half way through the show, I reached my hand into the popcorn and pulled out a giant handful. Then, I realized, I reached to the right. Yep, I reached into cologne man's popcorn! He was giving me a look like I had 15 heads, so I offered him some of my maltesers.

Talk about awkward. I'm such a geek, I really should pay more attention to my surroundings.

AND yes, I know that I should not have had the maltesers in the first place, but I DID factor them into my calories for the day, and I drank 2 bottles of water to help balance them out.

  1. OMG! This story may just beat the time a boyfriend of mine sat next to the wrong woman, put his arm around her in the dark and they both jumped 50 feet when he realized it wasn't me!

  2. The fact that you offered him some of yours is AWESOME! Ha ha! Lesser people would have just sunken in their seat.

  3. HaHa Ally, I've done that too!

If I were one to embarass, it would have been one of those times for sure!

I was both happy and suprised when he didn't want any of my maltesers. I didn't really want to share.

  4. I was getting nervous that you were going to reach down into his crotch. I'm glad he had popcorn on his lap!
The dude needs to lighten up too. That was nothing to get uptight about. Man, eat a malteser!
    Cheers,
