I mustache you a question...
Have you heard about "Body by Vi?" Just kidding!
The real question is.... DID YOU MISS ME?? I certainly missed you!
We are starting to get settled into the new house, new job and new school, but let me tell you, moving certainly has its down points.
Point #1 - 25 days without Internet. 25 days (not that I was counting or anything)
Point #2 - hotel stays. Sure a night in a hotel is nice every once in a while, but 3 people in the same hotel room for 16 days? fun fun
Point #3 - things get broken during transit. A BBQ, a floor lamp, 2 rubber maid bins, and a stainless steel garbage can to name a few.
Point #4 - disconnect and reconnecting all your utilities. Cell phone coverage is not the same from province to province, neither is satellite.
Point #5 - packing and unpacking. Realizing that you have way too much junk and no where to put it.

This was the mess in my new kitchen 2 weeks ago.

A long story short..
On Wednesday of last week, 3 strange men showed up to my house and put all my belongings in boxes.
On Thursday of last week, 3 other strange men showed up to my house to put all the boxes in a giant truck.
On Friday of last week, I had the pleasure of scouring an empty house.
On Saturday of last week, I had the pleasure of boarding an airplane.
On Sunday of last week, I had the unpleasure of saying good-bye to my dog for two weeks.
On Monday of this week, I had the unpleasure of purchasing all new school supplies for kiddo.
On Tuesday of this week, I had the unpleasure of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
Long story short - we have left Ontario, all our belongings are being shipped to the island. Husband started his new job, Kiddo started her new school, I had meetings, advertisements to proof, and a website to launch. We are hotel bound until October 31, when we take ownership of the new house (the Ontario house closes on the 28th, not without its snags, but that's another story for another day). I plan to start my new job at my new business on Monday! Things are hectic.

How to annoy me...
Make the offer conditional on sale of your own house, and the closing date over 2 months away!

I'm still here OR I'm back
10 days in Newfoundland does a body good!
We started in Lewisporte, where we saw bunch of houses, and I found a place to work!
Then we drove the 4 hours to my parents for a little visit, and had some lobsters. (have I mentioned I hadn't seen my father in a year)
Then we drove another 4 hours to visit my sister and her 2 beautiful kiddies, AND my in-laws, where we had a few drinks. (We also took advantage of being in St. John's and dropped off all my paperwork to my college and association to get me registered for work.)
Finally, we drove yet another 4.5 hours back to Lewisporte for a second look at our top houses.
Saturday, we made a conditional offer on our top selection, and are waiting to hear if it will be accepted.
Our Ontario house has been on the market three weeks so far. We're having a lot of showings, but so far no offers. Tomorrow kiddo goes back to her old school, and the waiting game continues.

This is the post where I spill the beans...
I've been lazier than a cut dog lately, which is to say I'm too lazy to get out of my own way. So I've been reading (think I packed away 3 novels this week, a full one yesterday alone) I am quite content sitting next to the AC.
Anyway, seeing as how I pulled my computer over with me today, I'm gonna blab! That possible deployment I mentioned last week, is back to Newfoundland!! NOT to my hometown OR to St John's but central Newfoundland about 4 hours from both sets of parents, in a town of just over 3000 people. Husband signed the conditional offer today, the condition being he passes his physical on Monday, but since he's in better shape now than when he joined 4 years ago, I have no doubts he will pass. YEAH!!!
In theory we will be moving to the far end of the country by September!! Which means a house hunting trip, movers, packing, open houses. Gulp, and me not working until after the move (I'm not paying for a licence in 2 provinces). YEAH
In other news, Canada Post is still on strike! SO until they are legislated back to work I won't be sending out my Taste of Home Prize Pack. AS SOON as the post is running again, I will contact the lucky winner for their address!
