On Wednesday of last week, 3 strange men showed up to my house and put all my belongings in boxes.
On Thursday of last week, 3 other strange men showed up to my house to put all the boxes in a giant truck.
On Friday of last week, I had the pleasure of scouring an empty house.
On Saturday of last week, I had the pleasure of boarding an airplane.
On Sunday of last week, I had the unpleasure of saying good-bye to my dog for two weeks.
On Monday of this week, I had the unpleasure of purchasing all new school supplies for kiddo.
On Tuesday of this week, I had the unpleasure of running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
Long story short - we have left Ontario, all our belongings are being shipped to the island. Husband started his new job, Kiddo started her new school, I had meetings, advertisements to proof, and a website to launch. We are hotel bound until October 31, when we take ownership of the new house (the Ontario house closes on the 28th, not without its snags, but that's another story for another day). I plan to start my new job at my new business on Monday! Things are hectic.
Want to see my new website? (please be kind with the critique, I did it myself) www.backinmotionmassage.ca

We're getting somewhere, sort of
Who ever said selling your house is easy, should be hung up somewhere!
Monday marked our home inspection, nothing major (found a little bit of aluminum wiring) and some cosmetic issues. All in all, nothing to deter the sale.
Tuesday, well that was a different story. They came to inspect the pool - liner is in great shape, diving board, solar panel, pump, all good. Then comes a beep beep beep - we have a crack in the return line! They have to dig it up, to get us a real quote, and of course that comes with an hourly charge out rate. Gulp! Next comes the safety cover, as soon as they guys open the bag, out runs a pair of mice. Not good. There are little mouse sized holes all through it.
So, provided we get the return line fixed, the pool professionally winterized and the safety cover mended, the sale of our house will be finalized October 28.
Speaking of swimming, I have comprised a list:
Good Things To Swim In:
• MY Swimming Pool
• Wine
• Beers
• The Ocean
• Money (Just like Scrooge McDuck)
• Wine, did I say Wine?
I was going to say pudding, but enough pudding to swim in would be enough pudding to drown in.
Bad Things To Swim In:
• Vomit
• Unpaid Bills (Speaking from experience here)
• Mud
• Pumpkin Innards

How to annoy me...
Make the offer conditional on sale of your own house, and the closing date over 2 months away!

I'm still here OR I'm back
10 days in Newfoundland does a body good!
We started in Lewisporte, where we saw bunch of houses, and I found a place to work!
Then we drove the 4 hours to my parents for a little visit, and had some lobsters. (have I mentioned I hadn't seen my father in a year)
Then we drove another 4 hours to visit my sister and her 2 beautiful kiddies, AND my in-laws, where we had a few drinks. (We also took advantage of being in St. John's and dropped off all my paperwork to my college and association to get me registered for work.)
Finally, we drove yet another 4.5 hours back to Lewisporte for a second look at our top houses.
Saturday, we made a conditional offer on our top selection, and are waiting to hear if it will be accepted.
Our Ontario house has been on the market three weeks so far. We're having a lot of showings, but so far no offers. Tomorrow kiddo goes back to her old school, and the waiting game continues.

guess where I am??
Good news: We made some headway with husband's house hunting trip and arrived on the island Tuesday past.
Bad news: our cell phone carrier does not work here! Depending on where we lay our heads we may or may not have WiFi. Bad news when your house is on the market in Ontario, and your relatives are all 4 hours away.
We're having a great time, there are currently 2 houses we like, and hope to view a second time tomorrow before placing a bid!
I'm back in Ontario September 1st, and I PROMISE I will catch up with all your blogs then (at the latest, would do it prior, but this post alone has taken over an hour to get done)

to my carpet...
They said you were dirty,
all your stains they show.
Time to get you cleaned
so no one will know
You’re not even black yet
just a dull dingy grey,
but they're coming to clean you.
Today, of all days
Oh carpet, dear carpet
with messes soaked in
I feel I mistreated you,
she says with a grin
Out dirt, dust, beer
and dog accidents too.
You'll be nice and clean
after your professional shampoo.
House was listed on Wednesday and we've had two showings so far, can I say MAJOR pain in the arse. Let's hurry up and get this puppy sold so we can get back to Newfoundland!
