Hey - that's better than no offer, trust me! When I sold my house back home in Canada, I had the same thing happen. The very next day, I got a solid offer that trumped the first offer! I hope that happens with you, too.
Oh no! I hope things get better on that front soon. Sorry I have not been around in a while. Been under a deadline and had to deal with a whole of crap as far as family. I'm back and catching up though.
